For standardization purposes, please submit your bid with the information below and in two separate parts; Part One Technical and Part two Financial
Detailed Bills of Quantities for the works to be performed should include the following;
1. Area to be demolished / dumping
2. Volume of Murram to be Stabilized
3. Area of premix to be laid
4. Masonry repairs to be carried out e.g Kerb Stones and concrete side drains
1- 4 (Technical Proposal ) above should be submitted separately from the below
6. The Financial Proposal (should be submitted separately from the above)
7. Rate for compaction per square meter. (This should also be included in the financial proposal)

STATEMENT OF WORKS FOR REHABILITATION OF AN ACCESS TARMAC ROAD OFF MABUA ROAD
1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 The U.S. Embassy in Kampala has a requirement to obtain Construction Services for the Rehabilitation of an Access Road off Mabua Road. The proposed repair work shall comprise Jerk hammering of existing surface dressed tarmac; excavate 100mm deep of sub base and damp to spoil/repair concrete side drain. The Road section measures 40mlong x 5m wide. Compact imported stabilized murram/gravel with 100mm thick and lay 35mm thick premix compacted hot.
1.2 The Work is Located externally off Mabua; Residence to be advised later.
1.3 The Embassy has the right to inspect and test all services called for by the contract, to the extent practicable at all times and places during the term of the contract. The Facilities Maintenance Department  may perform quality assurance inspections (QAI) and test during construction to confirm the work is installed according to the SOW.

2.0 RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR
2.1 The Contractor shall be responsible for the professional quality, technical accuracy, and the coordination of all construction and other services furnished under this contract.  The Contractor shall, without additional compensation, correct or revise any errors or deficiencies in its construction and other services.
2.2 The Contractor is responsible for the safety and shall comply with all local labor laws, regulations, customs and practices pertaining to labor, safety and similar matter. The Contractor shall promptly report all accidents resulting in lost time, disabling, or fatal injuries to the Embassy.

3.0 PRE-CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS
3.1 The Contractor shall examine the SOW and visit the construction site to fully inform themselves of all the conditions and limitations applied to the work.
3.2 Develop and submit a Bill of Materials (BOM) and produce data of all materials to be used in the project. The BOM’s shall list the materials in sufficient details that a purchase order for the materials and equipment can be executed without further elaboration or specifications. This document will be used by the Embassy and Facilities Maintenance Department to approve the use of all materials.

4.0 CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS
4.1 No construction shall begin until approval of the Warranty and Bill of materials is accepted by the Embassy
4.2 The Contractor shall be responsible for the required materials, equipment and personnel to manage, administer, and supervise the project.  All workmanship shall be of good quality and performed in a skillful manner as determined by the Embassy.
4.3 All materials and equipment incorporated into the project shall be new.  The Contractor shall transport and safeguard all materials and equipment for construction.
4.4 The Contractor shall at all times keep the work area free from accumulation of waste materials. Upon completing construction, the Contractor shall remove all temporary facilities and leave the project site in a clean and in orderly condition acceptable to the Embassy.

5.0 SPECIFICATONS
5.1 Demolitions: Using appropriate equipment; carefully demolish existing 100mm road surface.
5.2 Inspect the sub-grade for deterioration and provide 100mm thick stabilized murram/gravel. Compact the sub-grade using a 2 tonne vibratory roller to about 90% MDD. Prime surface and lay 35mm hot premix compacted smooth.
5.3 Repair V shaped concrete side drain and kerb stones
5.4 Clean site and hand over
    
6.0 DELIVERABLE SCHEDULE
6.1 The Contractor shall commence work under this contract   promptly, execute the work diligently, and achieve final completion of the project including final cleanup of the premises within    the period specified.
6.2 Milestones:
     Construction Begins             Within one 7 Days of Award
     Final Cleanup Begins            2 Days before placing premix                            
     Construction Completion         2 Weeks

7.0  SECURITY
7.1 This is a non-classified project. The work to be performed under this contract requires that the Contractor, its employees and sub—contractor’s personnel Names & information are submitted for review by the Embassy.
