Immigrant Visas
Adoption
Only US citizens may petition for the immediate immigration to the U.S. of foreign adopted children. There is no provision in U.S. immigration law for the entry of newly adopted children of legal permanent residents (green card holders).
The American Embassy in Uganda may accept the petitions, but the American Embassy in Nairobi processes all Immigrant Visas for individuals in Uganda.
