POSITION TITLE:          Project Management Assistant
          
POSITION LOCATION:  USAID, DO2  OFFICE

HOURS OF WORK:   40 hours per week

POSITION GRADE:   FSN-8  (Ugshs. 35,778,240 to 51,509,351 p.a. inclusive of allowances).

USAID/Uganda is recruiting a qualified Ugandan to fill the position of Project Management Assistant.

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
Assists the Democracy, Governance and Conflict (DGC) team manage project activities within the USAID/Uganda DGC portfolio and provide administrative support.   Ensures that the Mission has the necessary technical expertise to handle program and administrative support related to the multiple program areas of the DGC office.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
NOTE:  All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1.  Education Required: Some college or university studies. Studies can be in development studies/agriculture/environment/business administration/finance/accounting or similar fields.

2.  Work Experience:  Three (3) years of program/administrative/clerical experience is required; familiarity with an international agency and the government of Uganda is highly desirable.
3.   Language Requirement:  Must be fluent in English language.
4.   Knowledge:  Ability to quickly assimilate knowledge of program management, including design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation is required.  
5.  Skills and Abilities:  Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in teams, clear concise writing skills, ability to meet tight deadlines with logical analyses and clear presentation are essential.  Proven ability to work collaboratively with a range of counterparts at professional levels including those from host country government, NGOs, other USAID Missions, other donors and rural resource users.  Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office.  Demonstrated experience in the preparation and presentation of reports.  Must be self-driven with ability to perform under minimal supervision.
