American Citizen Services

The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy Kampala is open for routine American citizen services during the following hours:

The walk-in hours for U.S. Citizen Services are as follows:

 Monday - Thursday:  7:30 am - 02:00 pm
 Friday morning:  7:30 am - 12:00 pm
 

 

 

Please note that the Embassy is closed on most U.S. and Ugandan holidays.

If you are inquiring about an emergency that involves an American citizen such as a serious accident or injury, death, or an American citizen who has been the victim of a violent crime the U.S. Embassy Kampala duty officer can be reached outside normal working hours at 256 414 259 791/5 or 256 414 306 001, and then dial "0."

In addition, the U.S. Department of State, Office of Overseas Citizens Services, Washington DC has an after-hours duty officer that can be contacted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 202 647 5225.
